CS#47: Carl Anderson Shares A Civilization of Love And Remarks On Fr. McGivney

Today you will hear from Carl Anderson, the Supreme Knight of the Knights of Columbus.  First, he shares some remarks on yesterday’s news from the Vatican that Fr. McGivney, founder of the Knights of Columbus, has been declared a Venerable Servant of God.  This is a major step on the journey to sainthood, and it is an exciting announcement for all Knights and American Priests.  If canonized, Fr. McGivney would be the first American born priest to be named a saint. Carl also answers some questions about the future direction of the Knights.  Finally, we talked about the themes of Carl’s new book A Civilization of Love - What Every Catholic Can Do to Transform the World.  Carl shares briefly his thoughts on globalization, building a pro-life culture, and rebuilding the family.  Be sure to share this show with all your friendly neighborhood Knights.

I think that every parent has heard it at some time.  “Why do I have to go to Church?”  In today’s interview with Matt Pinto, we talk about his new book, Do I Have to Go.  This book is written in the popular question and answer format that Matt used in Did Adam and Eve Have Bellybuttons.  Matt talks with us about how to address the problem of going to church with teens and with younger children.  He also talks about strategies for parents to get as much as possible out of mass with children.  We would also love to hear our listeners’ suggestions in the comments section of this post.  Matt also shares about other new releases from Ascension Press.
