Mark and Beth Matthews, authors of ‘Precious Treasure – The Story of Patrick’ and ‘A Place for Me – Patrick’s Journey Home’, are no strangers to adversity and trials of their faith. Among their 12 children is Patrick, a child with autism who has brought them many trials as well as great joy. Learn from the Matthews about the great joy that Patrick has brought to their lives and how his story has strengthened the faith and courage of many who read it.

I was very impressed by Beth Matthew’s interview on EWTN with Patrick, and read, “Precious Treasure”. I am a the mother of Christina, age 5 with Down sydnrome, I know what a difference Beth’s story made for me when I was just starting down the path of special motherhood, so I am writing an anthology of stories of Catholic mothers of special needs children, focusing on how their faith saw them through the difficulties.
